The Cat Lover’s Survival Guide By Karen Commings
Books can be utilitarian sources of information, display objects to set on the coffee table, or welcome presents that say to the recipient, "I know what you care about because I am your friend, spouse, parent etc". The Cat Lover’s Survival Guide by Karen Commings meets two of these categories very well. It is very informative and also would make a thoughtful present for a new cat owner or a cat lover.
Ms. Commings is the author of over 10 books on pets, mostly cats. Her 2001 book, The Cat Lover’s Survival Guide is an excellent and easy to use reference for first-time cat owners and seasoned veterans of cat-ownership. The book contains information for solving "pesky pet problems" and some really creative ideas for helping disabled and aging cats.
The book is organized as Tips in various areas of interest to pet owners. Each section of the book also features some excellent and amusing line drawings of cats being cats. Her tips cover cleaning (up after your pet, their bowls, resources), safety (hazards, holidays, lost cats, moving), cost saving, feeding, grooming, behavior management, and resources.
The book is available new or used at Amazon or your local book retailer.
